How to know what wig is best for you…

Published on 11 March 2024 at 12:26

I must tell you, this picture is of me and my wonderful Mum we are not wearing wigs, this is my natural hair pre- children. It's a bit different now. And my mum pre hair loss due to chemo.

Anyway, there are so many types of wigs to choose from and what you choose and why will be personal to you, I will provide a quick summary here and I will go into more detail in a future blog.

HAIR TYPE

•Synthetic fibre- man made hair strands with style memory
•Human Hair - is just that!
•HD hair - man made fibre that can be styled using heat tools up to around 140C and has memory.

CAP CONSTRUCTION

•Monofilament- sheer mesh around the top/parting/crown for a natural scalp appearance

•Lacefront- lace completes the front hairline to provide a natural blend from wig to skin

•Hand tied - Individually hand tied strands for the most natural look

•Wefts of hair are sewn together to form layers on an elastic base

Each wig can be made up of a mixture of hair types and construction. Each type affects price, who can wear it i.e scalp sensitivity, size of head and many more.
